Our story

Built for the rugs professionals cannot afford to get wrong.

Carolyn X-TOL is a carpet and upholstery shampoo concentrate made by Superior Flux & Mfg. Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. For more than fifty years it has been used by professional rug cleaners on wool, Oriental and Persian rugs.

It is shampoo chemistry, not an enzyme formula. It lifts soil out of the fiber and rinses clean without leaving a tacky residue behind.

What changed is who is asking for it. Homeowners with a wool rug and a problem found it, used it and told us it worked. So we put it in a size that fits a house, and wrote the method down properly.
